The Logo
So what is the deal with that logo? Is that...is that a 'fro and a thong?
Obviously. When creating a logo for the Abell Cable, I decided to play it safe and use amateurishly drawn bad hair and distasteful swimwear. Why? And how did I get there? It started with what could objectively be my least attractive year on this planet: my junior year of college. Like many foolish, unmotivated college jackasses, I was allergic to exercise and subsisted on a strict diet of alcohol, buffalo-flavored meats, and attention. This led to lots of extra Chris and a puzzling desire to show it. So when, during a trip to Barcelona during my year abroad, I saw a street vendor hawking a neon-green weenie-bikini, I pounced. When you take that gorgeous one piece and throw in the casserole of hair I had later that same year, you get the logo. |

If that's not art, I don't know what is.

At the moment, The Abell Cable is kind of just all about you. Doesn't that seem a little self-centered and presumptuous?
Yes. Thanks for elaborating. Why make the site, then? I don't know what to do with myself. I like to try to make people laugh and feel like I have stuff to say. So the point of The Abell Cable is? I want to give people something fun, and I also want to create a space for people to talk openly about mental health. Oh, so then it's a little unfocused and perhaps trying to do too much. Shut up. How do I join the conversation on mental health? To join the forum on mental health, click on the cleverly titled "Mental Health" tab at the top of this page. From there, you can tell your story, respond to others, or just say hi by submitting your thoughts in the "Comments" section. |
